An employee of the biggest drilling contractor Caspian Drilling Company (CDC) joint venture died as a result of accident at drilling platform Dede Gorgud in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. CDC confirmed this information.
The accident was fixed on Monday at 23:59 Baku time.
"One man died as a result of the accident. Investigation is being conducted together with state agencies. It is early to speak about reasons of the accident. Everything will be clear after investigation," CDC representative said not calling name of the dead.
According to unconfirmed information, body of CDC employee was revealed by Baku crew, support craft of Dede Gorgud drilling platform near platform in water. They failed to rescue him. Special commission was established to investigate the incident.
