ITERA discusses with Turkmenistan terms of PSA contract on development of Caspian offshore fields

The international group of ITERA companies negotiates with the Turkmen government on terms of production sharing agreement envisaging development of offshore fields of the Caspian Sea, the Turkmen official source said. 

The matter deals with the 21-st and the 22-nd offshore blocks. ITERA intends to draw Zarubezhneft on parity terms in case of signing of production sharing agreement. According to U.S geophysical company Western Geco, reserves of Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea hit 11 billion tons of oil and 5.5 trillion cubic meters without contracted blocks.

Prospects of ITERA participation extension in Turkmen fuel-energy complex were raised during recent of the Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's meeting with ITERA head Igor Makarov.

Presently, ITERA improves several fields in Central Karakum and constructs pipeline that will connect this territory with gas main line Middle Asia-Center on the border with Uzbekistan.

Makarov confirmed his intention to fulfill all partner obligations. He stressed that ITERA is ready to participate actively in fulfilling new projects in Turkmenistan in construction, modernization of industrial infrastructure and telecommunications. ITERA shows interest in participation in tender of Turkmengaz on construction of gas pipeline East-West from Turkmen biggest Iolotan field to border with the Caspian Sea, the company's press-release said.
