Kazakhstan, Astana, July 7 / Trend K. Konyrova /

Share of Kazakhstan in Kazakh part of Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System and so-called Trans Caspian part of Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System is different, minister of energy and mineral resources Sauat Mynbayev told Trend in Astana.

"Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System consists of two parts. The first one is Kazakh part including coastal infrastructure and pipeline Eskene-Kurik. The second part is Trans Caspian system beginning from Kurik to Baku, including infrastructure at Azerbaijani coast of the Caspian Sea," Mynbayev said.

Share of Kazakhstan will hit 51 percent in the first Kazakh part of Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System, he said.

"While telling about blocking package of shares, I meant Kazakh part of project. Share of national company KazMunayGaz JSC must hit 51 percent. But the rest 49 percent of shares must be distributed between participants of Kashangan consortium project and Shevron," Kazakh head of energy ministry said.

Distribution of the rest 49 percent among partners of Kazakhs part of Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System will be discussed during future talks, minister said.

"Shares were divided 50x50 with Azerbaijani SOCAR in the second part of Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System called as trans Caspian System," he said.

Production will be launched not later October 2013. Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System must be completed with initial capacity of 23 million tons per year by this term.

Earlier, president of national company KazMunaiGaz JSC Kairgeldy Kabyldin said that Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System is constructed for Kashagan field. Roughly 1.2 million barrel will be exploited from this field per day.
