Kazakhstan to sell KazTransGaz-Tbilisi gas distribution company

The Director of KazTransGaz-Tbilisi Company, Kazanji Kayneldiyev, confirms the intention on the Kazakh side to sell Tbilisi's gas distributing company, the Kazakh director of the Georgian company told media on July 9.  

The KazMunaiGaz delegation will arrive in Tbilisi in the near future. The delegation will carefully study the pricing of KazTransGaz-Tbilisi, he said.

Kayneldiyev stressed that it will be necessary to take into account KazMunaiGaz investments to the amount of $200 million in order to fix the price.

It should be noted that presently the company has debts to Georgia to the amount of 80 million lari ($1-1.65 lari). Hence the national energy regulating commission has been the appointed temporary manager since December.

KazMunaiGaz also has a Rompetrol filling station in Georgia, as well as an oil terminal in Batumi.

Azerbaijani SOCAR and Kala-capital Company are named among the potential buyers of Tbilisi's gas distributing company. A famous Georgian football player owns Kala-capital Company.
