SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exported roughly 1.23 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in the first six months compared to 698,500 tons within the same period in 2008, SOCAR said.
Over 170,500 tons of oil was exported via the pipeline in May.
SOCAR intends to increase export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline up to 2.5 million tons in 2009 compared to 1.3 million in 2008.
Roughly 1.2 million tons of oil was exported via this route in 2007. This index is similar to 2006. Export via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline hit 1.6 million tons in 2005.
