Special equipment to be used to lift helicopter crashed in Caspian Sea: SOCAR

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) uses Ali Amirov ship equipped with special pressure chamber for deep-water diving to lift pieces of helicopter crashed in one of offshore field of the company on July 14, SOCAR said.

Presently, ships, helicopters and divers of SOCAR, the ministry for emergency situations and AZAL CJSC (it owned crashed helicopter) continue to search two oil industry workers lost as a result of crash, message said. 

Crashed helicopter is 90-95 meters under water. Divers specially trained for work in big depth will be drawn for its lifting.

Helicopter of AZAL CJSC took off from the fourth block of Chilov island and dropped in the sea on July 12 at 16:30. Three members of staff and three passengers remained on board.

Commander Alik Aliyev, the second pilot Vitaly Nekrasov, flight engineer Adil Azimov and motorman of compressor workshop of oil and gas producing department 28 May of SOCAR Aydin Talibov were saved. Searches of two employees of SOCAR continue.

The department on grave crimes investigation of the Prosecution General filed criminal case on violation of air security and exploitation rules of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic. 

Presently, investigation is underway.
