BTC to ship 1.2mln barrels of Kazakh oil in Aug.

In August, the U.S.-Kazakh Tengizchevroil Joint Venture (JV) will ship 1.2 million barrels of the Kazakh Tengiz oil from the Turkish Ceyhan port which is the same with volumes of July.

Under the shipment schedule by Energy Intelligence Group, two consignments of the Tengiz oil will be shipped from Ceyhan in August. The first consignment - on Aug. 2-4 and second - on Aug. 14-16. Earlier, the Head of KazMunayGaz Kairgeldi Kabildin said it was planned to transport roughly 5 million tons of the Kazakh oil via Azerbaijan in 2009.

American ChevronTexaco began transport of Tengiz oil via the BTC in 2008. The Kazakh oil will be shipped via the BTC and railway until Kulevi and Batumi ports of Georgia. Tengiz is operated by ChevronTexaco.

BTC shareholders include BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); Chevron (8.90%); Statoil Hydro (8.71%); ТРАО (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%); Itochu (3.40%); Inpex (2.50%); ConocoPhillips (2.50%) and Amerada Hess (2.36%).

Kulevi terminal on the shore of the Black Sea is owned by the SOCAR and Batumi oil port is owned by KazMunayGaz.
