Azerbaijan registered a representative office of the Devon Energy Caspian Development Corporation oil company, the Azerbaijani taxes ministry said.
The company is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
Devon participates in the project on development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea and holds 5.6 percent of shares.
The company transports its oil by rail to the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi.
