Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk ups shipment of oil-related products

In January-June 2009, the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped about 22.1 million tons of oil, compared to 21.4 million tons in the same period of 2008, the port's official Web site reported.
Over 6.5 million tons of oil products were shipped in January-June 2009, compared to 5.4 million tons of last year.
A total of 43.3 million tons of various cargo was transported in January-June, compared to 39.2 million tons of the mentioned period in 2008.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is shipping own gas via the Novorossiysk port. In January-June 2009, SOCAR exported 1.2 million tons of oil via the north pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk. This represents increase of more than 170,500 tons compared to 2008.
In 2009, SOCAR is planning to increase oil export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to 2.5 million tons, compared to 1.3 million tons in 2008.
