Azerbaijani-Uzbek alliance launches production of sorbent in Azerbaijan

The first batch of sorbent was produced in Baku within alliance established between Ekol muhendislik xidmetleri CJSC (engineering services) and Uzbek Ekonordragmet, CJSC said.

Equipment producing sorbent was installed at production area of CJSC upon terms of the agreement. Equipment was brought from Uzbekistan. Capacity of installation producing sorbent is 30 kilogram per hour. 

Sorbent is very effective means to purify polluted lands and reservoirs from oil. Ekol will use sorbent produced to purify artificial reservoirs and polluted lands from oil. It will increase economic and ecological effectiveness of ecological projects implemented by CJSC.  

Equipment brought to produce sorbent is licensed equipment of Ekonordragmet Uzbek Company. Necessary equipment must be brought and installed by Uzbek Company in accordance with established alliance.

Azerbaijani Ekol CJSC and Uzbek Ekonordragmet signed the contract to establish joint alliance producing sorbent in Baku in the end of February. The agreement was signed during visit of Uzbek side to Azerbaijan.

Co-founders of Ekol CJSC are SOCAR - 51 percent and Lancer S.A. Services - 49 percent. Ekol CJSC was established on March 1, 2006 to solve ecological problems on Absheron peninsula.  

Uzbek-English joint venture, Ekonordragmet, was established and registered in the Uzbek ministry of justice on February 15, 2006.
