The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) launched new oil and gas well on the "March 8" offshore field, which it independently develops, the SOCAR said. This is the first well, which was put into the exploitation on the field for last 10 years.
The well has a debit of 70 tons of oil and 12,000 cubic meters of gas a day from depth of 5,650 meters.
At present, the field has 7 operating wells with overall debit of 500,000 cu m of gas and 180 tons of oil and condensate a day.
"March 8" field plays an important role in realization of SOCAR gas program. The field belongs to the Nariman Narimanov Production Unity and producers 1.3 million cu m of gas and 1,100 tons of oil per a day.
