Kazakhstan, Astana, August 25 / Trend K. Konyrova /

It is necessary to launch reconstruction and modernization of Kazakh oil refineries from the Atyrau oil refinery, managing director for oil processing and marketing of KazMunayGas JSC, Daniyar Tiyesov, told Trend correspondent in Astana.

"There will be no problem with loading of the Atyrau refinery with raw materials as it is located in the west of Kazakhstan, near all of our major fields within short and long prospect. We will always load it with Kazakh oil, " Daniyar Tiyesov said.

Thus, according to Managing Director, the question concerning loading of raw materials of the second Shymkenstsky refinery, located in the south of Kazakhstan will arise in 12-15 years.

"Shymkenstky plant also provides oil from our Kyzyl-Orda fields, but the dynamics of production at these fields shows that there is no tendency to increase or maintain the production level. A question on how to provide the plant with raw material will arise in 10-12 years," Tiyesov said.

Regarding with the third plant in the republic, Pavlodar petrochemical plant, located in the north of Kazakhstan, it is technologically-oriented to process crude oil from fields of Western Siberia.

"Therefore, Atyrau refinery must be brought to attention. It is the most reliable, and important. We must not depend on external sources of raw materials", the managing director said.
