Kazakhstan national company KazMunayGas (KMG) is considering options for attracting a partner - supplier of oil for the activity of Pavlodar petrochemical plant, 100 percent of the shares of which the company acquired earlier, the head of national company Kairgeldi Kabildin said on Sept. 24.

According to him, now is considered the question to identify partners, since geographically and technologically the Pavlodar plant tied to Russia's oil. "We are interested in finding such a partner," he added. However, Kabildin did not name the Russian company.

The plant was built in 1970s in the USSR period, and the technology has been configured to process oil from fields in Western Siberia. KMG seeks a Russian company to provide the plant with Russian oil. Earlier Rosneft, Lukoil, Transneft were considered as contenders.

KMG has long negotiated the purchase of 100% shares of the Pavlodar petrochemical plant. 58% of shares was owned by Mangistaumunaigaz JSC, the rest - Committee of State Property and Privatization of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
