Russia's shipyard sent new tanker to Azerbaijan

Shusha tanker built at Russian shipbuilding enterprise Red Sormovo (Nizhniy Novgorod) has left the waters of the factory for the customer, Azerbaijani State Caspian Shipping, Sea and oil and gas project group said.

Contract with Kaspar on tanker-13,000 was signed on June 2008. Tanker was built earlier contracted term. Official handover of the tanker was in mid-September. The delivery term under the contract is late 2009.

Tankers of project-19619 refer to river-sea and designated for crude oil and oil products transportation. They are equipped with 12 freight tanks and a settling tank. They have ballast compartments in double boards and bottom. Length of tanker is 150 meters, width - 17.30 meters, heights of board - 10.5 meters, deadweight - more than 13,000 tons. It is maximal for ship that can be easily exploited in the Caspian Sea without reequipping of port terminals. Non-interaction hits 20 days. These are the biggest oil-loading ships exploited in the Caspian Sea. Planner is Volga-Caspian project-constructing bureau entering sea and oil and gas project group.

Construction of tanker corpus of this project and their management give absolute guarantee of accident-free exploitation. All ecologic requirements of the region are fulfilled immediately. Conformity with all requirements of the international conventions on prevention of environment pollution allows tankers exploiting in special regions of seas of Western Europe with high ecologic requirements.

It is the seventh tanker-13,000 built for Azerbaijani State Caspian Shipping at Red Sormovo plant. The sixth tanker Zangezur was delivered to customer in September 2008. English Kingdom society of ship engineers included in the list of significant ships of 2008.

Contract with Kaspar on the first tankers-13,000 was concluded in 2002. Tankers President Heydar Aliyev, Babek, Shakh Ismail Khatai, Keroglu, Dede Korkud were delivered to customer in 2006. Presently, they are succefully exploited in the Caspian Sea. Sea and oil and gas project group signed next contract on Zangezur with Kaspar in January 2008. Tanker was put into operation in September 2008. Contract for construction of the seventh tanker was signed with Kaspar in June 2008. Term of its execution is late 2009. Presently, tanker Shusha was floated.

Sea and oil and gas project group is company managing shipping projects. The group covers the plant of Red Sormovo (Nizhniy Novgorod), Volgograd shipping plant, as well as Sormovo machine-building (Nizhniy Novgorod) and Volgograd plat of special machine building.
