SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic) will end pumping of Azerbaijani oil on Oct.28, scheduled for October, through Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline (northern direction), SOCAR said on Oct.7. SOCAR will pump 248,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil in October, compared to 140, 000 tons in September.

At present, average oil pumping through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline is 10,000 tons per day, the source said. According to the schedule, daily volume of pumping would be reduced to 6,000-6,500 tons on Oct.23.

It is planned to transport 248,000 tons in October, 240,000 tons in November and 140,000 tons in December.

SOCAR pumps own oil through Novorossiysk port. In August, the company exported around 240,000 tons of oil compared to 83,000 in the same period of 2008.

SOCAR intends to increase oil export by 2.5 million tons through Baku - Novorossiysk pipeline in 2009, compared to 1.3 million tons in 2008.

At present, Azerbaijan gets Urals oil (in the port of Novorossiysk) while transportation of oil via Baku - Novorossiysk pipeline due to mixing with other producers' oil.
