Kazakhstan & Russia to provide data on fields developed jointly by late 2009: minister

The agreement on mutual reservation of energy facilities and mutual transit of electric power was discussed at the 13th session of the Kazakhstan-Russia inter-governmental commission on cooperation, Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sauat Mynbayev said at a news conference held after the meeting.

It was also decided to complete the work to provide all necessary data on the fields of Khvalyn and Central by late 2009.

According to Mynbayev, the agreement on joint development of the Imashev field must be also prepared by late 2009.

Additional opportunities to accelerate work on expansion of the CTC were discussed at the meeting.

CPC Blend oil is transported within the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). CPC Blend crude oil's density is 812.3 kg / m 3, sulfur content - 0.53 percent. There is 7.8 barrels of oil in 1 ton of CPC Blend.

In January-September, the shareholders of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) at the Southern Ozereyka-2 terminal has shipped about 25.8 million tons (about 202.2 million barrels) of grade CPC Blend compared to 22.9 million tons (more than 179 million barrels) in the same period in 2008.

In 2008, the CPC shareholders shipped terminal 31.5 million tons of oil compared to 32.6 million tons in 2007.
