A pipeline infrastructure has been prepared to start exporting gas to Russia from 2010. President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev said on Oct. 19 that the Kazi-Magomed-Mozdok pipeline was reversed and it is technically possible to pump about seven billion cubic meters of gas per year compared to five billion cubic meters earlier.

"Currently, our specialists are working on this pipeline. It has already been reversed, and now we can pump about seven billion cubic meters of gas per year via the pipeline," said the head of SOCAR.

On October 14 in Baku, SOCAR and Russia's Gazprom signed a contract to supply Azerbaijani gas to Russia. Terms of the agreement envisage supplying Azerbaijani gas from the beginning of 2010 in volume of not less than 500 million cubic meters per year.
