StatoilHydro becomes Statoil

Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 2 / Trend /

StatoilHydro ASA is changing its name to Statoil ASA with effect from Nov. 2, and simultaneously adopting its new visual identity - a lodestar.

"This star represents the group's history, pioneering spirit and ambition to be a leader in efforts to find better solutions for meeting growing energy requirements in a responsible way," the company reported.

The new logo will be used by all departments of the company, except for gas station network, which will keep the old logo of Statoil.

This indicates that the direction of the company's business has specific aims and target audiences and successfully develops separately, the report said.

Statoil is headquartered in Norway with 30,000 employees worldwide, and is listed on the New York and Oslo Stock Exchange.

At present, Statoil owns 8.6 percent of stakes in the project of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and 25.5 percent in the project of the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field. The company is the operator of Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company, which deals with marketing and sales of gas produced from Shah Deniz.
