More than 729 million barrels of oil transported via BTC

Since June 4, 2006 till the end of the third quarter 2009, 918 tankers were loaded at Ceyhan with a total of more than 729 million barrels (about 97.7 million tonnes) of crude oil transported via BTC and sent to world markets, BP report on 2009 3Q results said.  

By the 9th of November 2009, 959 tankers were loaded at Ceyhan with a total of more than 758.6 million barrels (more than 101.5 million tonnes) of crude oil.

During the first nine months $59 million was spent on BTC capital expenditures.

The BTC pipeline currently carries ACG oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan and some volumes of crude from the North Caspian. The first volumes of oil from the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan entered BTC in October last year. Transportation of Kazakh oil via BTC continues in accordance with the Transportation Agreement between BTC Co and Tengizchevroil - the operator of the Tengiz field. 

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25.00%); Chevron (8.90%); Statoil (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2.50%) and Hess (2.36%).
