Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 23 / Trend U. Ismayilova /
The British government pays special attention to developing partner and economic relations between Azerbaijan and the UK, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Carolyn Browne said today during the second visit of UK business circles.
"The British government pays special attention to developing partner relations with Azerbaijan in four directions," Brown said.
These measures cover British commercial or business circle activities in Azerbaijan, and initiatives to attract new investments and create new opportunities for British businessmen in the republic.
The second priority is to ensure energy security and reveal new hydrocarbon resources in Azerbaijan, their use, processing and further export.
The third direction is to carry out joint activities to combat terrorism.
The fourth direction is to develop partner relations and introduce European business quality standards in Azerbaijan.
All these activities will be conducted by the EU. Today, Azerbaijan has significant partner relations with many EU countries.
"There is a real result," Brown said.
Over 20 British companies from various economic sectors are participating in the meeting. Azerbaijan is represented by the International Bank, Azpromo, AZMECO and other organizations and companies. The first visit of the British business circles to Azerbaijan was held in October 2008.
