Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow during his visit to Rome (Nov. 24-25) said that the Italian capital can take its important place in the further modernization of the fuel and energy industry, transport and communication infrastructure of the country."
The governmental press-service said that the official Ashgabat is ready to consider proposals for the construction of new industrial and processing plants, transport facilities.
Turkmenistan is among the top five world energy powers for its energy resources. The gas production in the country must increase up to 250 billion cubic meters but oil - 110 million tons per year in accordance with the oil and gas development program.
The measures for the technical upgrading and modernization of oil and gas sectors, the implementation of large investment projects, construction of industrial facilities using the best world practice and the achievements of scientific and technological progress intended to promote the achievement of these milestones.
During the visit Berdimuhammedow met with the chairman of the Italian oil and gas ENI, Paolo Scaroni. According to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, he stressed that his company is ready to deliver Turkmenistan partners its potential and opportunities in various sectors of fuel-energy complex, including exploration, extraction and processing of oil and gas.
"We are surprised and admire the ability of the Turkmen economy to a systematic growth and increase in GDP (gross domestic product) during the world crisis. This stability can turn Turkmenistan not only into a new, but also the priority partner among countries with which we have already had work experience", Scaroni said speaking at a business forum in Rome.
