In 2010, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) will carry out projects on land and water clearing, and reduce the gas emission from the company's industrial sites, SOCAR Vice President on Environment Mukhtar Babayev said today
The company has completed some of these projects. We hope the most part of these projects will be implemented, Babayev added
According to Babayev, the company uses the experience of foreign companies, as well as the Azerbaijani National Science Academy and local research institutes while implementing environmental projects
SOCAR will continue its environmental programs in 2010 which Azerbaijan declared the Year of Ecology, the company head Rovnaq Abdullayev said.
At present, the company is conducting environmental activities at its plants across the Absheron Peninsula, particularly in the "Bibiheybat", "Balakhany" oil and gas production areas and the area named after Tagiyev. SOCAR holds clean-up of oil pollution
