Iran put the first power plant running on biogas in the country's Shiraz province, Mehr reported.
The Shiraz biogas power plant was commissioned on the basis of a joint project of the Shiraz City Executive Power and the private sector with investment amounting to $2.5 million.
The plant can produce one megawatt of electricity and has the ability to increase capacity up to 4 megawatts. The Shiraz City Executive Power has invested $1 million in the project of and the private sector - $1.5 million.
