Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to formulate single policy on PTL-500kW construction

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan stand for formulation of a single coordinated policy on construction of power transmission line-500kW Hodjent-Datka-Kemin-Almaty as a part of CASA-100 project, preliminary results of the 9th session of Kyrgyz-Tajik intergovernmental commission in Osh said, news agency "24.kg" reported.

Official delegations of both states headed by Nurlan Sulaimanov the Kyrgyz Transport and Communication Minister and his Tajik counterpart Olimjon Boboev have considered the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation.

Representatives of the countries outlined their "interest in implementation of PTL construction projects for further electricity supply to third countries through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and formulation of a single policy on construction of Hodjent-Datka-Kemin-Almaty PTL-500kW as a part of CASA-1000 project," the Kyrgyz Transport Ministry reported.

The sides have also agreed on consideration of regular Bishkek-Dushanbe-Delhi and Delhi-Dushanbe-Bishkek flights by Kyrgyzstan Air Line Company.

The intergovernmental commission has also charged the local authorities of both countries with banning all kinds of construction on Kyrgyz-Tajik border till its demarcation and delimitation is completed.
