SOCAR works to increase gas production in Caspian Sea

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has started work to expand the production platform at the Bulla Deniz offshore field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said.

Expanding of the platform is planned through the installation of four additional blocks. Three blocks were built on the platform of the Deep Water Jacket Plant named after Heydar Aliyev, and one - on the construction and assembly site of the NEFTEGAZSTROY trust in Zig owned by the oil and gas trust of SOCAR. The height of each block is 43 meters and weight - 170 tons. In the coming days, these blocks will be transported to the project area with the 34 meters depth of the sea. The platform is planned to drill wells at 5,700 meters.

Bulla Deniz field is owned by the oil and gas unit named after Narimanov. The platform located on the field produces 450,000 cubic meters of gas per day. Over 34 years of operation, 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 11 million tons of oil were produced on the Bulla Deniz field.

The oil and gas unit named after Narimanov also owns the "March 8" field and the Umid prospective gas condensate field.
