SOCAR increases oil export via Baku-Supsa pipeline
Azerbaijan, Baku, January 6 / Trend /
SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exported about 2.8 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil, developed from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, via Baku-Supsa pipeline in 2009 compared to 407,100 tons in 2008, the marketing and economic operations department of SOCAR reported.
In 2007, oil was not supplied in this direction because of repairs on the pipeline since November 2006. Supply via the pipeline started in mid 2008, but because of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, this process was suspended. Transportation via this pipeline was restored in early November 2008.
Operator of Baku-Supsa pipeline is BP.
