SOCAR to open more filling stations in Georgia in January

SOCAT plans to put into operation three more filling stations in Georgia under its own brand in January, SOCAR Energy Georgia (a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia) said.
"It is planned to open three more filling stations, in particular in Tbilisi, Borjomi and Danpari in January," a source said.
A source said earlier that SOCAR plans to put into operation 30 more filling stations under its brand in Georgia in 2010. At present, about 28 filling stations operate under SOCAR brand in Georgia.
"We have many plans. We want our company to hold the first place in retail sale and we will achieve this goal in several years. If the number of our filling stations in Georgia reaches 60-70 units, then it means that we will be close to our goal, SOCAR Energy Georgia head Mahir Mammadov said.
SOCAR Energy Georgia deals with distribution and marketing of oil and oil products in the country. In particular, the company sells oil and gas on the Georgian market. SOCAR Energy Georgia co-founders include: SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 32.7 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili -16.3 percent.
