In 2009, the Sumgayit Power Station generated more than one billion kilowatt hours of electricity, Azerenergy JC reported said. The station was commissioned in November 2009.
In December 2009, the plant generated about 309 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
The Sumgayit Power Station's capacity is 525 megawatts. The station consists of two gas turbines with a capacity of 164 megawatts each, and one steam turbine with a capacity of 189 MW.
