OJSC Azerenergy conducts operations to ensure energy security of Azerbaijani regions

In January-February, Shirvan thermal power plant generated 526,8 million kilowatt-hours electricity compared forecasted 512 million kilowatt-hours, OJSC Azernergy said.

In January-February, Shirvan thermal power plant generated 526,8 million kilowatt-hours electricity compared forecasted 512 million kilowatt-hours, OJSC Azernergy said.

In February, the plant generated 261,1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity or 11,1 million more than forecasted.

ТЭС состоит из семи энергоблоков мощностью 150 мегаватт каждый. На станцию приходится 15 процентов от всего объема производимой в республики электроэнергии.

A new Janub power plant with a capacity of 780 MW in the Shirvan city of Azerbaijan is constructed in order to ensure security of the national electricity system. New technologies will be installed in the new plant. Due to these technologies the plant will operate with black oil and gas.

The construction the plant will increase the energy security of the Absheron Peninsula and Azerbaijan's southern region. Also, it will help improve the efficiency, energy-transmitting and energy-distributing systems.
