Two new natural gas deposits have been discovered in Uzbekistan whose economy largely relies on the hydrocarbon, a representative of Swiss company Zeromax GmbH told RIA Novosti.

The gas fields were found in central Uzbekistan's Bukhara-Khiva area.

"Commercial gas inflow was recovered from Jurassic limestone at 3,234 m interval depth... commercial gas condensate inflow gained through 14mm tubing choke was equivalent to 400 tcm/a day," Zeromax said.

It also reported the recovery of commercial gas inflow through 8mm tubing choke "from Callovian-Oxford limestone at 3,830-3,850 m interval depth," with commercial gas condensate inflow rate being 100 tcm/a day.

"Well testing is still under way," the company said, adding that specialists working on both sites will drill new boreholes to make a more specific assessment of the fields' reserves.
