Georgia will offer interesting investment projects in energy, which may be of interest for foreign investors, Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri told Trend before the Tbilisi international energy conference and exhibition.

Today, the ninth international exhibition of gas, energy and infrastructure, as well as the conference "GIOGIE-2010" are held in the Radisson Hotel. This event is important for those who are interested in the above-mentioned sectors of Georgia and the possibilities of research in the Caucasus.

"GIOGIE" is a leading forum in the energy sector in Georgia. It has been held annually since 2002. Over 300 delegates, 30 representatives of high rank, and 15 participants of demonstration booths will attend the event this year. "Georgia has a great potential in energy. The realization of construction projects will enable us to double the export opportunities soon," Khetaguri said.

He stressed that it would strengthen the economy and ensure energy security of the country.

"We also discussed the existing regional projects and projects for the transit of Caspian energy resources to Europe," minister said.
