Azerbaijan imported about 17,000 tons of metallic pipes, which is 6.6 percent lower in January-February compared to January-February 2009 to operate onshore and offshore.
Pipes worth $22 million or 49.3 percent less than the same period of 2009 were imported, the Azerbaijani state statistical committee said.
SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) holds onshore and offshore oil and gas operations in the country. The company operates on oil and gas fields of Azerbaijan, both independently and jointly with foreign companies.
Azerbaijan has 57 oil and gas fields and 18 of them are offshore.
