The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has developed an e-database to monitor ecological activities on the Absheron Peninsula, the SOCAR Ecology Management reported.
The company held monitoring activities, studied various information sources and used modern methods, technical equipment and laboratory studies to create the e-database.
The environmental information database details the territory on the peninsula polluted by oil and other wastes, and and their exact coordinates.
The project is implemented under the "Arc View" program to assess and manage environmental problems.
