Russian port Novorossiysk reduces oil transportation

In January-May, Russia's international trading port Novorossiysk transported more than 17.7 million tons compared to over 18.5 million tons in January-May 2009, a statement posted on the official website of the port said.

About 5.87 million tons of oil products of OJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port were transported in January-May compared to 5.4 million tons over the same period last year.

Totally, in January-May, the port transported about 35.84 million tons of various cargoes compared to more than 36 million tons over the same period last year.

SOCAR transports own oil via the port of Novorossiysk. In January-May SOCAR exported 878,000 tons from the northern pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk compared to about one million tons in January-May 2009.

In 2009, SOCAR exported about 2,5 million tons via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 1.2 million tons in 2008. In 2007 about 1.2 million tons of oil were transported. In 2005, export amounted to 1.6 million tons via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
