Exxon Mobil to establish representation in Turkmenistan

The plans of the U.S. oil company ExxonMobil include the establishment of its office in Ashgabat, national TV channel Altyn Asyr said.

Vice-president of oil company in Europe and the Caspian Sea region Phil Mulhall spoke about it at a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov.

"This will certainly contribute to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation and will allow Exxon Mobil to become a stable partner for dynamic Turkmenistan to successfully implement a new energy strategy in conjunction with the diversification of export routes of energy supplies", he said.

"Turkmenistan is ready to establish a long term cooperation with a company having rich experience, huge production potential in oil and gas industry and which established itself as the world leading developer of advanced technologies," Turkmen president said.

He said that broad introduction of innovative technologies and the latest engineering and technological achievements are one of the priority aspects of the development of modern Turkmenistan, bet on a fundamental modernization of the leading sectors of the economy.

ExxonMobil representative stressed the interest of the company in active participation in the implementation of large-scale programs for the further development of the Turkmen fuel and energy complex.
