BP President Tony Hayward has arrived in Azerbaijan with a working visit July 6, BP Azerbaijan reported.
During the visit, Hayward is expected to meet with the Azerbaijani leadership and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) leadership. The meetings are expected to discuss the implementation of ongoing projects.
BP is involved in major energy projects in Azerbaijan. In particular, the company is the operator (the operator of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company) of project to develop the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli bloc of oil and gas fields, as well as the Shah Deniz large gas condensate field in Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea.
The company also operator of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, through which most of the Azerbaijani oil is delivered to the world market, and the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
