Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree to appoint Shokir Faizullayev chairman of the National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz, a source in the government reported.
Prior to his appointment, Faizullayev was deputy chairman of Uzbekneftegaz. He replaced Ulugbek Nazarov in new position.
Uzbekneftegaz is a monopoly operator of oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan - established in 1998 and brings together six joint stock companies.
