Azerbaijan and Georgia intend to export power, Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev told journalists in Batumi.

"This is one of our most important projects and 500-kilovolt power line is already constructed to implement it," he said, stressing that after the construction of the line, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be able to supply electricity to Turkey and Iran.

In turn, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri confirmed that the Georgian side has already engaged in the construction of power lines and on the Georgian side to finish the remaining 18-km section.

"This is a very important project, which will give us the opportunity to export surplus power, mainly in summer," he said.
