The 15th Anniversary of Turkmenistan International Oil and Gas Conference, OGT 2010 will once again bring together the oil and gas industry leaders, domestic and international investors, financiers and representatives of international and local government to discuss the growing strategic role of Turkmenistan in the global energy industry as well as to highlight Turkmenistan's vast potential for the international investment and cooperation.  

The OGT 2010 will provide local, regional and international gas community with an opportunity to meet and discuss issues which are keys to the effective and successful development of Turkmenistan's hydrocarbon sector. In addition, OGT 2010 will offer a platform for the expansion of regional and international cooperation and new business partnerships. The conference aims to attract foreign investment for the purpose of advance Turkmenistan and region-wide Oil and Gas industry.

The conference will be attended by over 700 delegates, and will feature approximately 60 speakers. The presentations will focus on the speakers' areas of expertise, analysis of development collaborations as well as discussions relating to strengthening and diversification of Turkmenistan's hydrocarbon sector.

Turkmenistan is experiencing a new era in its development - a period of renaissance and great transformation. Accordingly, Turkmenistan's oil & gas industry has become an important contributor to the development of the entire economy. As a result, the Government of Turkmenistan has created and is currently implementing a long-term plan for the development of both oil and gas industries through 2030. Investment openness of Turkmenistan, commitment to dialogue, and the willingness to implement and support new projects is demonstrated by the recent multi-billion dollar contracts awarded to international companies.

The government has emphasized the priorities for the development of the oil and gas industry. Among them: the implementation of new exploration and production projects; the rapid industrial development of onshore and also offshore oil & gas resources located and in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and its coastal zone; to increase efficiency in the development of existing fields; the development of refining infrastructure and capacity; the development of the chemical sector; the expansion of domestic and international transport infrastructure; the implementation of the advanced technologies and modern techniques; the training and education of Turkmen nationals.

Turkmenistan intends to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with many countries of the World and develop a strategy on attracting foreign companies with modern technologies and know-how that meet international standards.

We have no doubt that the conference will once again play host to speakers of the highest caliber and create the perfect platform for all participants to establish mutually beneficial business contacts and to exchange experience and knowledge for the further development of the international and regional cooperation.
