Azerbaijan, Baku, August 4 / Trend /

SOCAR in January-July exported more than 1.26 million tons from the northern Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to about 1,5 million tons in January-July 2009, the report said.

In July about 216,100 tons were exported via this pipeline compared to 247,000 tons over the same period in 2009.

SOCAR in 2009 exported about 2.5 million tons via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 1.2 million tons in 2008. In 2007 about 1.2 million tons of oil were exported via this route. It is similar to 2006. In 2005, export amounted to 1.6 million tons via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.

SOCAR transports oil produced in its own fields, as well as by joint ventures and the companies operating onshore through Novorossiysk.

Today Azerbaijan receives Urals oil (in the port of Novorossiysk) while transporting oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.

The operator of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline was the AIOC by late 2007, which gave these functions to SOCAR.
