Representatives of countries participating in the project Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) in Ashgabat stressed the importance of speedy implementation of the project and the need to intensify joint efforts, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.

A regular meeting of the technical working group on this great project was held in Ashgabat.

The article states that members of the working group noted that realization of this project benefits both Turkmenistan - a gas supplier, as well as Pakistan and India, which economies need energy resources, and Afghanistan as a consumer and transit country.

"Laying of the transnational gas pipeline will allow participating countries to resolve a number of important social and humanitarian issues, including those related to the creation of additional jobs, formation of social infrastructure along the entire gas main line. It will help to maintain and consolidate political stability throughout the region, " the media said.

A number of technical issues on implementation of agreements aimed at enhancing collaboration were discussed.

The last meeting is important as another positive step towards cooperation in the world energy sphere, which will have new energy bridge of world importance.
