Azerbaijan, Baku, August 5 / Trend A. Badalova /

The State U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) predicts an increase in gas production in Iran up to 248 billion cubic meters in 2035 from 114 billion cubic meters in 2007. The annual growth in gas production in the country in this period will be 2.9 percent.

According to the EIA International Energy Review 2010, gas production in Iran hit 183 billion cubic meters in 2015, 228 billion - in 2020, 248 billion - in 2025 and 257 billion cubic meters - in 2030.

According to BP, the proven gas reserves in Iran in early 2010 amounted to 29.61 trillion cubic meters. It hits 15.8 percent of total world proven gas reserves. Gas production in the country in 2009 amounted to 131,2 billion cubic meters, or 13.1 percent more than in 2008.

Oil production in Iran will be reduced in the long-term-prospect. The main reason for the reduction in oil production in Iran will be the financial and political constraints on the development of new oil fields in the country.

According to EIA forecasts, due to significant political factors and investment restrictions, liquids production in the country will be reduced in 2035 by 2.7 million barrels per day.
