The territory of the former refinery has been put on sale in Batumi, the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said. The territory of the plant and its facilities have been presented at the auction.
The starting price is $14.5 million.
Applications from concerned people are accepted till September 1. The auction will be held the same day at 17:00.
However, the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation expressed interest in the preparation of technical and economic documentation of the refinery June 15.
Engineers India Limited, Granherne, Purvin & Gertz, FLUOR, SK Engineering & Construction, PDC and OTC Capital are interested in this proposal.
According to the corporation, there are no operating refineries in Georgia. The country is completely dependent on imports.
