BP spends about $460 mln for operations within projects in Azerbaijan in January-June

In January-June the British company BP's expenses within contracts and orders in Azerbaijan amounted to $459 million, the BP's report said. The company is the operator of several oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan.

In 2009, BP's expenses within the contracts and orders in Azerbaijan amounted to $982 million.

In particular, in January-June expenses for contracts of small and medium-sized enterprises (in total 193) amounted to $67 million, state-owned companies (35) - 14 million manat, joint ventures with a local partner (19) - 148 million manat. Expenses of foreign contractors in the country last year amounted to 230 million manat.

About 1.2 million manat was spent for projects within social responsibility in 2009. In particular, expenses within the development project of Azerbaijani offshore fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli hit 0.26 million manat, Shah Deniz - 0.05 million manat, pipelines Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi - Erzurum - 0.46 million manat. BP within its own projects in social responsibility, spent $0.5 million.
