The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) Azerkimya Production Union has finished isolating four heat insulators at the Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant's Compressed Gas Shop. The isolation activities were carried out by the SOCAR General Construction Office.

Soft insulation (ranging up to 1,200 square meters) was carried out on equipment and production lines. All steam lines were covered with soft isolation at compression gas and pyrolysis shops. Soft insulation was carried out on lines transporting pyrocondensate, steam and other chemical products. Activities are underway to cover various lines and insulation with a layer of iron to prevent external damage.

The Sumgayit Termoizol Company also was engaged in thermal insulation at the plant, which is important to prevent energy loss. In total, the isolation activities at the EP-300 and Polymer-120 complexes involved eight teams and covered over 5,700 square meters. The total volume of work is about 42,000 square meters.

General Construction Office Deputy Chief Jabbar Hasanov said the isolation activities have been made for the first time at the plant. Previously leakage and production loss were observed on the pipelines and equipment after major repairs after poor isolation works.
