Iran has allocated $2.2 billion for seven Iranian gas and refinery projects, Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister Alireza Zeighami was quoted as saying by the Mehr new agency.

Iran hopes to meet 70 percent of the country's domestic demand through the local projects.

Iranian gas production will increase to 12 million liters per day, Zeighami said.

"We will ensure 70 percent of the country's gas demand by improving the Tehran, Abadan, Esfahan, Bandar Abbas Tabriz, Imam Khomeini and Lavans refineries," he said.

Zeighami said the country produces 44 million liters of gasoline today.
