SOCAR sells about 200,000 tons of oil products on Georgian market in January-July

In January-July SOCAR sold about 217, 240 tons of Azerbaijani oil products on the Georgian market compared to about 232,000 tons in January-July of 2009, SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia said.

In January-July SOCAR sold about 217, 240 tons of Azerbaijani oil products on the Georgian market compared to about 232,000 tons in January-July of 2009, SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia said.

A source said that in January-July, SOCAR sold nearly 89.78 tons of gasoline, 105,760 tons of diesel fuel, over 14,000 tons of jet fuel, 765 tons of fuel oil, 6,510 tons of bitumen and 413 tons lubricating oil.

In 2010, SOCAR plans to sell 412,000 tons of petroleum products on the Georgian market compared to more than 406,000 tons in 2009. As a result of the year, it's planned to reach set goals and even overfulfil sale plan, the source said earlier.

Oil products are produced on the basis of two refineries with total capacity of 20 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries are a part of SOCAR, which annually processes approximately six to seven million tons of oil extracted in the fields of onshore and offshore fields at its own expense.

Last year, the Baku refinery processed 6.03 million tons compared to 7.35 million tons in 2008. This year, SOCAR plans to process 6,15 million tons of oil on its own two refineries.
