European Commission expresses support for first Caucasian Forum on Renewable Energy

The European Commission expressed support for the first Caucasian Forum on Renewable Energy to be held in baku in September, Joe Hennon Spokesperson Commissioner for Environment, Janez Potocnik, said in his letter received by Trend.
"It is both timely and relevant for the region," the letter says.
Defining an adequate response to the challenge of climate change in a collaboration of government, business and science institutions is of major importance, Hennon wrote.
"Every player has a different perspective and awareness of the various components with respect to climate change. Therefore it is a great chance to bring people from fields, background and experience together to work on sustainable and responsible solutions," the letter says.
The First Caucasian Forum on Renewable Energy and Trade Fair will be held in Baku Sept.7-8 in Hyatt Regency hotel.
The European Commission, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham), SOCAR, Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, WB, KfW, GTZ delegated plenary speakers at the forum.
Azerbaijani biggest Pasha Bank has sponsored this unique forum, the report said.
