Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shakhin Mustafayev, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev and OJSC Azerenergi President Etibar Pirverdiyev held a meeting in Sumgait concerning creation of an industrial small town there, SOCAR reported.
Visiting Sumgayit Technopark - a modern production facility established in an industrial area of the city in 2010, the sides indicated that this enterprise has an important place in the economic map of the region and plays an important role in its future development.
Primary circuits of the industrial small town and the work, carried out there, were under discussion in the meeting.
A similar venture established on the basis of advanced technologies, is important not only economic point of view, but also from a social, because it creates new jobs, so there should be established network of similar businesses as soon as possible and extended, the officials said.
The sides also examined the Sumgayit Technopark and Organic Synthesis Plant of Azerkimya, and discussed the possibility of creation of an industrial small town there. The sides noted the critical importance of establishing such an industrial small town there and agreed to mobilize all internal opportunities for early implementation of this idea.
