Turkey reduces import of natural gas in January-July

In January-July the Turkish state pipeline company Botas imported 17.75 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey from various sources compared to 19.2 billion cubic meters in January-July 2009, a statement posted on the official website of Botas said.

In January-July the Turkish state pipeline company Botas imported 17.75 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey from various sources compared to 19.2 billion cubic meters in January-July 2009, a statement posted on the official website of Botas said.

Botas imported more than 33.6 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey in 2009 compared to about 37.8 million cubic meters in 2008.

About 313 million cubic meters of gas fall to Botas's export operations in January-June. About 721 million cubic meters of gas fall to export operation last year compared to 443 million cubic meters in 2008. This figure was 31 million cubic meters of gas in 2007.

Some 17.77 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in January-July on the Turkish domestic market compared to about 19 billion cubic meters during the same period last year.

More than 32 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in 2009 on the Turkish domestic market compared to more than 36 billion cubic meters in 2008. This figure amounted to 35.1 billion cubic meters in 2007.
